Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Tom Reifsnyder specializes in surgically repairing poor circulation in the limbs with the goal of preventing gangrene and amputation. Before he arrived at Hopkins in January 2006, Reifsnyder, an assistant professor of surgery, had been at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh for 12 years. He earned his M.D. at Indiana University and did his surgical training as well as his vascular surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. A marathon runner who also enjoys reading, particularly the New York Times, he recently got married.
