A nurse clinician on the pediatric intensive care unit at Johns Hopkins Children's Center and a member of the pediatric transport team, Philadelphia native Megan Quick decided early on to pursue a career in nursing. While earning her bachelor's degree in nursing at Villanova University, Quick volunteered on a medical mission to Kenya with Operation Smile, the not-for-profit that provides free reconstructive surgeries for poor children around the world. The Johns Hopkins nurses she met and worked with there recruited her to Baltimore.
Quick, who received her master's from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, relieves the stress of working in the PICU by exercising and going out with friends. An avid traveler, she still volunteers for Operation Smile and stays true to her hometown roots cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles.
