Karen Boyle M.D.

Karen Elizabeth Boyle specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility, sexuality and sexual dysfunction in men and women, genital aesthetics and microsurgery.

While ABC was filming, she was assistant professor of urology, obstetrics and gynecology and director of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Brady Urological Institute. Today she is Director of Reproductive Medicine & Surgery, Sexuality and Aesthetics at Chesapeake Urology Associates.

A recognized leader in what historically has been a mostly male medical specialty, Boyle is a graduate of Harvard University and Albany Medical College in New York. She also conducts research on the medical and psychological impact of genital surgery and vasectomy. She is a member of the American Urologic Association (AUA), the Society of Male Reproduction and Urology (SMRU) and the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR).

During her spare time, when she is not busy chasing her three children (ranging in age from 2 years to 2 months), Boyle enjoys golfing, running and surfing. A major sports enthusiast (football being her favorite), she is a former lifeguard and a long-distance open-ocean swimmer. At Harvard, Boyle was elected the first female president of the school’s Republican Club.
