Joseph DeSimone M.D.
Joe DeSimone recently completed his residency training in cardiothoracic surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and its Heart Institute. Prior to Hopkins, he attended the University of Notre Dame and the University of Connecticut and spent about six years in general surgery residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He has since returned to his native New England and Dartmouth-Hitchcock, where he now practices.
When he was at the University of Connecticut studying for his medical degree (class of 1997), he discovered a passion for sailing, a hobby passed down from his father, a reservist in the U.S. Navy. DeSimone’s dream adventure is to sail in the 635-mile Newport Bermuda Race. He is also a passionate drummer who would have liked to tour in a major rock band.
